PROPER BUTCHERS SINCE 1820

Lamb

Proper English lamb, prepared by butchers carrying on a Leighton Buzzard trade that dates to 1820. From slow-roast shoulders to French-trimmed racks and diced leg, every cut is butchered fresh in our shop daily, and delivered to your door tomorrow.

Butchered fresh, never sat on a shelf

There is no cabinet of pre-packed lamb here. When you order, we cut and trim it by hand, wrap it properly, and load it into our own refrigerated vans. It leaves the shop fresh and arrives ready to cook, not defrosting from a warehouse.

Our Lamb

made the proper way

Lamb worth coming back for

Good meat has been this town’s business since 1820. That is not a marketing line; it is generations of butchers learning exactly how a leg should be boned, how a shoulder should be rolled, and how a rack should be trimmed. When you buy lamb from us, you are buying two centuries of knowing how to do it properly.

Every order is delivered by our own team in our own refrigerated vans, never handed to a third-party courier. Order before the daily cut-off and your lamb arrives the next day across the LU, MK and HP postcodes – cold, fresh and ready for the oven.

Ordered the £30 meat pack on a Tuesday, arrived Wednesday morning, all properly chilled. Steak was excellent. Will be ordering again

Been meaning to leave a review for ages. We switched from the supermarket after a friend recommended these and honestly there's no comparison - the pork especially. Delivery driver even carried it in for me as was a heavy box. Little things.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about ordering meat online. Turns out it's better than what I was getting at the supermarket "fresh" meat counter. The bacon is the real winner, was proper thick cut, and doesn't shrink to nothing in the pan.

Absolutely brilliant. The burgers went down a storm at our BBQ and a certain guest (you know who you are) wanted to know where I'd got them... High praise!

We used to go to Yirrells years ago so it's lovely to see the same quality still going. Ordered lamb for Sunday and it was every bit as good as I remember - thanks for your advice Mark.

Meat quality is genuinely excellent - the beef joint was superb. Only thing I'd say is I'd like a few more options in the smaller packs. Otherwise no complaints at all.
