PROPER BUTCHERS SINCE 1820

Goat

Goat is the meat the rest of the country is only just discovering – lean, rich and full of flavour. At Abbey Meats we butcher it properly, the way it’s been done in this town since 1820, and deliver it fresh to your door across Leighton Buzzard and beyond.

Lean, versatile, and cut to order

Whether it is a slow curry goat, a spiced roast or something on the grill, our goat is prepared by hand and cut to suit the dish you have in mind. Order before 3pm and it arrives chilled the very next day.

Our Goat

made the proper way

Goat worth coming back for

There’s been a proper butcher in Leighton Buzzard since 1820, and Abbey Meats carries that on under its own name – the same care over sourcing, the same commitment to the town. Goat is a specialist cut, and it is handled by proper butchers who know exactly how to trim, joint and prepare it for the kitchen it is heading to.

Every order is cut fresh, packed cold and delivered by our own refrigerated vans across the LU, MK and HP postcodes – never left with a courier, never sitting in a warehouse. Delivery is free over £30, and what arrives at your door is exactly what you would be handed across a good butcher’s counter.

Ordered the £30 meat pack on a Tuesday, arrived Wednesday morning, all properly chilled. Steak was excellent. Will be ordering again

Been meaning to leave a review for ages. We switched from the supermarket after a friend recommended these and honestly there's no comparison - the pork especially. Delivery driver even carried it in for me as was a heavy box. Little things.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about ordering meat online. Turns out it's better than what I was getting at the supermarket "fresh" meat counter. The bacon is the real winner, was proper thick cut, and doesn't shrink to nothing in the pan.

Absolutely brilliant. The burgers went down a storm at our BBQ and a certain guest (you know who you are) wanted to know where I'd got them... High praise!

We used to go to Yirrells years ago so it's lovely to see the same quality still going. Ordered lamb for Sunday and it was every bit as good as I remember - thanks for your advice Mark.

Meat quality is genuinely excellent - the beef joint was superb. Only thing I'd say is I'd like a few more options in the smaller packs. Otherwise no complaints at all.
